In Depth... During high school, I worked as the night manager of Dick and Don’s Texaco. I was the biological sciences storekeeper for the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. I worked for Petrolane Alaska Gas Company as bookkeeper and salesperson. I began my pre-med studies at the University of Alaska in 1974. I restored and rebuilt sports cars, and worked as an automotive mechanic. I operated heavy equipment on the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline project. I was an audio consultant and salesperson for Team Electronics. I studied photojournalism at the University of Alaska, and attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography. I was a personal fitness trainer and manager of Nautilus of California in Santa Barbara. I edited “The Predictor and Tillman Survey,” a stock market newsletter, and was a financial public relations agent and co-founder of Market Makers, a financial PR firm. I completed my pre-requisite studies at Santa Barbara City College, and in 1988 began matriculation at Western States Chiropractic College.
After graduating from WSCC in 1991, I practiced with Dr. Frank Spaulding in Fairbanks, Alaska for a couple years before moving to Oregon to open my own practice. In 1995, I opened Applegate Valley Chiropractic and operated that clinic until December 2002. In January 2003, I opened Northside Chiropractic Clinic in Medford to serve the needs of a broader patient base.
My training and experience has led me to more fully appreciate what health is (not simply the absence of disease) and what role healthcare should play in supporting and optimizing patients’ health. I listen to my patients to learn what they are experiencing. I examine them to determine the cause of their malfunction. Then, I provide treatment that restores function and allows their body to heal. I continue to be fascinated by the responses I see on a daily basis. I look forward to being fascinated by you!
